Grape Variety  Gamay from vines that are more than 30 years old.

Vinification  Aged in oak barrels.

Tasting notes  This wine is intense. There are aromas of leather, smoke, incense, musk, spice, sandalwood, black olives and sage. A satin like palate with warming alcohol, refined tannin and a lingering spicy finish.

Food & mood match  This polished and distinctive wine goes down extremely well with Saltimbocca (which is veal wrapped in prosciutto and fresh sage leaves, marinated in wine and sautéed in butter) or lamb with rosemary. A relaxing winter holiday environment environment by the seaside or lakeside would be a perfect way to enjoy this wine.

When to drink and how to store  Gamay is often drunk fairly young although this Gamay can age well into 4 to 5 years and more depending on the vintage and how its treated. So be kind and gentle to it and store in a nice dark cellar away from any light and vibration and with a good level of humidity (around 50%).

A few words from the winemaker  Special care was with these old vines, in particular, by reducing the number of grapes produced, despite the advanced age of the vine.
