Soil  Clay

Vinification   Gamay’s claim to fame is Beaujolais in France but it is also Switzerland’s 2nd most widely planted variety. Terre de Lavaux has been making this fine drop for more than 50 years.

Tasting notes   This full and juicy wine has scents of berry fruits, earth, cloves, cardamon, smoke, plums and black pepper. Little tannin is present but its overall effect stimulates the entire palate and makes you long for more.

Food & mood match  A jolly, easy going lunch and picnic wine perfect with a group of long lost friends for Sunday lunch over a long catch up. Match with pizza, lasagne, stews, moussaka and barbequed food.

When to drink and how to store  It is ready straight away although can also benefit from being kept 2 to 3 years, and depending on the vintage, a wee bit more. In summer if the temperatures are high it could benefit from being served slightly chilled.

A few words from the winemaker  This historic wine from Terres de Lavaux has been produced continuously for 60 years.
