Chardonnay 2024

Soil  Grown in soil made up of 100% clay.

Vinification  Aged in French oak barrels from Allier.

Tasting notes  Sandalwood, lemon and lime, along with toasty, smoky aromas (as if the toast has just popped out of the toaster) on the nose.
Flavours of chestnut and hints of honey peek through this full bodied, rich and harmonious excellently structured wine, with a nice long finish. 

Food and mood match  Definitely a scallop mornay which must be served in its shell. Crayfish could also be an option. An ideal setting – a nice seaside restaurant in a pretty little port whilst watching the boats come in.

When to drink and how to store  Have patience, leave it for a year or 2, by which time it will be nicely matured. Keep for up to approximately 6 years depending on the vintage. Don’t serve it too cold as that will diminish its distinctive aromas
